"Content you are trying to load is from an incorrect region" error in Halo: Reach

When you play Halo: Reach, you get the following error message:

Content you are trying to load is from an incorrect region.

This error typically occurs after you download additional content for the game, and the content you downloaded was not created for the same language or region as your Halo: Reach game disc.

To resolve this issue, you will have to purchase the add-on content that you want to play in the same language as your Halo: Reach game disc or use a different game disc that matches the content you are trying to use.

To download content for Halo: Reach

  1. Sign in to Xbox Live.
  2. Start Halo: Reach.
  3. Select Multiplayer.
  4. Select Store.
  5. Browse for and select the item you want to download.
    Note Specifically look for items that list the language of your game disc in the item description.
  6. Complete the purchase and download the item.

After downloading the item in the correct language, you can delete the original, incorrect-language item. For more information about how to delete content, see Copy, move or delete Xbox saved games, profiles and avatar items.

Generally, you access the relevant content in the Halo: Reach Games folder. After you delete content, try again to play the game.

You do not see a game add-on in the language of your game disc in the Halo: Reach store

Depending on the region that your Xbox Live account was created in, there are select languages that are available based on the retail availability of the game title. If you don’t see the correct language available, this is because the language of your Xbox Live account does not match the languages available in the store for that game title or other content. You can work around this issue by doing one of the following:

  • Purchase a Halo: Reach game disc in the same region as that of your Xbox Live account.
  • Use a different Xbox Live account to view and make purchases.
