This means that the installation program has detected an unsupported graphics processing unit (GPU). A GPU with a minimum of D3D_FEATURE_LEVEL_11_0 is required. Some older cards may support DirectX 12, but not the features required to run this title.

Solution

To resolve this issue, you'll need to upgrade your GPU card. To check what kind of card you have, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Start, select Settings, and then select System.
  2. On the Display tab, scroll to the bottom and select Advanced display settings.
  3. Scroll to the bottom and select Display adapter properties. The Adapter Type will display the name of the GPU, and the Dedicated Memory will display the Adapter Type.

    Examples of supported GPUs:

  • Nvidia 980ti
  • Nvidia 970
  • GeForce GT 740
  • Radeon R9 290X
  • Radeon R7 250X
