Error 80151014 occurs when you try to sign in to Xbox Live

You see the following error message and code when you try to sign in to Xbox Live:

Your console can't connect to Xbox Live. Do you want to exit this session and test your network connection? If you are playing a game, you will lose any unsaved progress
Status Code: 80151014

This may mean that the Xbox Live profile that’s stored on your Xbox console is corrupted.

Solutions

Solution 1: Delete the stored profile

  1. Go to settings and select System.
  2. Select Storage.
  3. Select All Devices.
  4. Select Gamer Profiles.
  5. Select the profile that you want to delete.
  6. Select Delete.
  7. Select Delete Profile Only. (The profile will be deleted but game saves and achievements will not.)

Solution 2: Clear the system cache

  1. Press the Guide button on your controller.
  2. Go to Settings and select System Settings.
  3. Select Storage or Memory.
  4. Highlight any storage device, and then press Y on your controller. (It doesn't matter which storage device you select; the cache will be cleared for all storage devices.)
  5. Select Clear System Cache.
  6. When you are prompted to confirm storage device maintenance, select Yes.

Solution 3: Download your profile again

To download your Xbox Live profile, follow these steps:

  1. Press the Guide button on your controller.
  1. Select Download Profile.

Note If you don’t see a “Download Profile” notification, it probably means you’re signed in to your profile. Press X to sign out.

  2. Enter the Microsoft account that’s associated with your Xbox LIVE gamertag. If you don’t know your Microsoft account credentials, see Find your Microsoft account email address.

Note If your Xbox Live account is a child account, you’ll have to use the parent’s Microsoft account to download the profile.

  3. Select the storage device for your profile (for example, Hard Drive). Your profile will begin downloading.
  4. When the download is complete, you can choose whether to require a Microsoft account password to sign in to your profile. The Remember Password option is turned off by default, which means that you’ll be prompted for your Windows Live ID password when you sign in to your Xbox Live profile.
