Error 809B100A occurs when you stand too far away from your Xbox 360 Kinect sensor

You see the following error message when you’re using Kinect for Xbox 360:

Too far away (809B100A)

This means that the Kinect sensor can barely see you.

Solutions

Solution 1: Move closer to your Kinect sensor and try again

If your Xbox 360 Kinect sensor can't see you, move closer to the sensor, and then select Try Again. If you keep getting the error, try the next solution.

Solution 2: Use the Kinect Tuner

Use the Kinect Tuner to help Kinect track and see your entire body. For more information, go to Troubleshoot body tracking for the Xbox 360 Kinect Sensor.

Solution 3: Contact Xbox Support

If you keep experiencing this error, contact Xbox Support.

Solution 4: Request a repair

If the previous solutions didn't resolve the problem, your Kinect sensor needs to be repaired. See Getting your Xbox console or Kinect sensor serviced.
