Error 80070490 occurs when you use Xbox Live or Films & TV

Problem

You see the following error code when you try to download your Xbox Live profile or stream video from Films & TV.

80070490

This may mean that you need to either delete and recover your gamertag and clear your cache, or free up space on your hard drive.

Solutions

Solution 1: Delete your gamertag, clear your cache and recover your gamertag

If you get this error when you’re trying to download your Xbox Live profile, follow these steps:

  1. Unplug any accessories attached to your console, such as a headset, the Xbox 360 Chatpad or the Kinect sensor.
  2. Delete your profile. For more information, see Download, move or delete your Xbox 360 profile.
  3. Clear your system cache twice. See How to clear your Xbox 360 system cache.
  4. Recover your gamertag. For more information, see Download, move, or delete your Xbox Live profile.
  5. Restart your console.

Solution 2: Free at least 200 MB of space on your hard drive

If you get this error when trying to stream video from Films & TV, free up at least 200 MB of space on your hard drive.

Solution 3: Contact Xbox Support
