If your video content is stored externally (for example, on a USB flash drive or an external hard drive)
You can add video content from a USB flash drive or an external hard drive directly to the library.

If you have videos stored on a network or network access storage (NAS) drive
To use a network drive with the Music app:

  • The drive must be hosted by a Windows operating system.
  • You must have Windows Search and Desktop Experience features installed.
  • You must enable Indexing for the share.

If you have to install or enable these features, you may have to rebuild the index for the share to function correctly with the Video app.
