Music videos on Xbox One

Overview

With Xbox One, we've made it easy for you to access and enjoy your favourite music videos or browse and discover new music videos. If you haven't used the Groove app yet, you'll have to download the app by selecting the Groove tile on the Xbox One Home screen.

You'll need a Groove Music Pass to enjoy the full features of Groove.

Note On Xbox One, the Groove Music Pass allows streaming only. Available content may vary by country and over time. See the Groove page for more details.

Browse or search for music videos in the Groove catalogue

Groove will allow you to find the latest videos of breakthrough artists with our Featured function, discover popular videos with Top music, or search for old favourites.

Discover new videos

  1. On your Xbox One console, sign in with your Microsoft account.
  2. Select Groove on the home screen.
  3. On the Groove home screen, select Featured.
  4. Select New videos.

  1. Browse all genres, or use the drop-down menu to filter your results and choose the type of music that you're looking for.

  1. To see more videos in each genre, select the ellipsis () near the bottom of the screen.

View popular videos

  1. On your Xbox One console, sign in with your Xbox Live-enabled gamertag.
  2. Select the Groove tile on the home screen.
  3. From the Groove home screen, select Top music.

  1. Select Top videos.
  2. Scroll through to see the most popular videos in each genre.
  3. To see more videos in each genre, select the ellipsis () near the bottom of the screen.

Note Song tiles that show “SONG + VIDEO” listed at the bottom have a matched song and video in the catalogue.

Find and access specific music videos from the Groove catalogue

  1. On your Xbox One console, sign in with your Xbox Live-enabled gamertag.
  2. Select the Groove tile on the home screen.
  3. From Groove home screen, select Search. Or, press the menu button  on your controller and then select Search.

  1. Type the name of the artist, album or song that you're interested in.

  1. When the search results appear, use the Filter results drop-down menu and select Music videos.

  1. Select the music video for the song, and then select Play.

Explore and play all music videos for an artist

  1. On your Xbox One console, sign in with your Xbox Live-enabled gamertag.
  2. Select the Groove tile on the home screen.
  3. From the Groove home screen, select Search. Or, press the menu button  on your controller and then select Search.

  1. Type the name of the artist that you're interested in.
  2. Select the artist profile from the results.

Add a music video to your music playlists on Xbox One

Note To learn how to create a playlist, see Create a Groove Music playlist on your Xbox One console.

To add a specific song or video to your playlist:

  1. Choose the song or video you want to add, and then select Add song.
  2. Choose the playlist that you want to add the song or video to. Or, select New playlist to create a new playlist.

Note When viewing an album or playlist, the video icon to the right of a track name indicates that the track has matched music video in the catalogue.
