Streaming and broadcasting

You can control the following preferences:

  • Allow PlayTo streaming
Enable this if you want to play video and music on your Xbox One from the Windows 8 or 8.1 Share charm and other PlayTo-compatible devices.
For more information about using PlayTo streaming, see Use the PlayTo feature to stream Groove and Films & TV content to your console.
  • Allow broadcasts and game captures
Enable this if you'd like your gameplay to be visible to other users by using Twitch to broadcast or by using Game DVR to capture and share your gameplay footage.
For more information, see About Upload and Upload Studio on Xbox One.
  • Allow game streaming to other devices
Enable this if you'd like to game stream to the Xbox app on your Windows 10 device.

SmartGlass connections

This option allows you to set how your console responds to connection requests from SmartGlass devices.

Preferred video provider
This option allows you to designate your live TV content provider as primary provider, which will prioritise listing their content first in searches.
For more information about finding your TV provider, see the TV Hardware Information Xbox forum.
