OneGuide on your Xbox One console is not designed to control your DVR. However, you do have several options:
You can use your DVR remote control to access your recordings or schedule new ones.
If you have a Windows 10 PC or Windows 10 phone, you can use the Remote Control option from OneGuide in the Xbox app to access all of the menus for your DVR/satellite/cable box.
If you have an Android or iOS phone, you can use the Remote Control option from OneGuide in the SmartGlass app to access all of the menus for your DVR/satellite/cable box.
How to access the Remote Control option in the Xbox app on Windows 10
Before you can use the Remote Control option in OneGuide, you need to connect your Xbox app to the Xbox One you want to control. Here's how:
On your PC, start the Xbox app.
In the menu on the left-hand side of the screen, select the Connect icon near the bottom of the list.
On the Connect to your Xbox One screen, select Remote Control under Controls.
An overlay of a digital remote control appears on the screen. You can use the buttons on this digital remote just like you would use a standard universal remote control to access all of the menus of your DVR/satellite/cable box.
Note OneGuide’s playback controls (fast forward, rewind, play and pause) will work with your DVR recordings, so you can use your Xbox One controller or voice to control playback.
