Xbox Live Gold one-month free trial subscriptions with new Microsoft accounts

When you set up an Xbox One or Xbox 360 console and create a new Microsoft account, you’ll be able to sign up for an Xbox Live Gold monthly renewing subscription and receive your first month free.

You can also sign up for an Xbox Live Gold trial subscription when you create your new account online. Here’s how:

  1. After you create a Microsoft account, sign in to the Subscriptions page.
  2. Select Gold – 1 Month FREE Trial, and then select Next.
  3. Select Add a credit card.

Important Although your Xbox Live Gold trial subscription is free, we need a payment option on file because the subscription will renew to a paid Xbox Live Gold subscription unless you cancel it. You must add a payment option such as a credit card or PayPal to your account.

If you don’t want a paid Xbox Live Gold subscription after your Xbox Live Gold trial subscription ends, you must cancel it. See “How to cancel an Xbox Live Gold trial subscription,” below.

  1. Enter your billing information, and then select Next.
  2. Follow the prompts to complete the signup process.

Notes

  • The Xbox Live Gold trial subscription is associated with a single gamertag.
  • Only three Xbox Live Gold trial subscription accounts are available per console. After a user has created three Xbox Live Gold trial subscription accounts on their console, they no longer receive a message that provides the opportunity to create an Xbox Live Gold trial subscription account.
  • Be sure that your country/region is correct in your billing information when you sign up for this offer.
