Solution 1: Verify your Microsoft account security information

Security information refers to a phone number or secondary email address that we can use to contact you regarding account security. This information allows us to validate your identity before changes are made to your account. These changes can include a new password, billing information, or contact information. This helps keep your account secure.

  1. Sign in to your Microsoft account. If you've forgotten your password, reset your password.
  2. Verify your security information. For example, make sure that your Phone number, Alternate email address, and Security question (if available) information is correct.

Solution 2: Verify your billing information

  2. Verify the billing information for your Microsoft account. For example, verify that the billing address for your Microsoft account matches the billing address used by your credit card company.
Note Make sure that your Microsoft account payment details, including capitalization, match the information that is used by your credit card company.
  3. Sign out of your Microsoft account, and then sign in again.
  4. On your console, try to connect to Xbox Live.
