Error 80A40011 occurs when signing in to Xbox Live on Xbox One

You see the following error message when you try to do the following things:

  • Sign in to your Xbox Live account
  • Play a game using the Xbox Live service
  • Use an app that requires an online connection

    To sign in, make sure you're connected to Xbox Live. Test your network connection, or see if the Xbox Live service is reporting problems by going to Settings > Network.

    80A40011

This may mean that the network connection on your Xbox One console has been lost.

Solutions

To resolve this problem, try the following solutions.

Solution 1: Test your Xbox Live connection

  1. Scroll left from Home to open the guide.
  2. Select Settings.
  3. Select All Settings.
  4. Select Network.
  5. Select Network settings. Any known outages will appear in the middle of the screen.
  6. On the right-hand side of the Network settings screen, select Test network connection.
  7. Once you've tested your network connection, select Test multiplayer connection on the right-hand side of the screen.

Solution 2: Remove and recover your Xbox Live profile

  1. Remove your Xbox Live profile from the console:
    1. Scroll left from Home to open the guide.
    2. Select Settings.
    3. Select All Settings.
    4. Select Account.
    5. Select Remove accounts.
    6. Select the account you want to remove, and then press the A button.
    7. Select Remove to confirm. When you’re finished, select Close.
  2. Perform a hard reset of the console. To do this, hold down the power button on the console until it turns off and then restarts.
  3. Recover your profile to the console:
    1. Select Sign in in the upper-left corner of the Home screen.
    2. Select Add new.
    3. Enter your Microsoft account email address and password, and then select Enter.
    4. Verify the privacy settings you’ve set for your account. These apply to any Xbox One console that you sign in to. Select Next.
    5. On the Choose a colour screen, select the colour for your Home screen to differentiate between you and others using this console. Select Next.
    6. You’ll be reminded of the gamerpic that’s associated with your profile. Select Next.
    7. Select either Save my password or Keep asking for my password. Your profile is now downloaded to the console.
