Error XBOS3008 occurs when completing a purchase on Xbox One or Xbox.com

You see the following error code when trying to complete a purchase on an Xbox One console or Xbox.com:

XBOS3008

You may encounter this error when you retry a failed transaction.

Solution

If your first transaction fails, check for information regarding the error, as it relates to why the purchase didn't complete. This error reflects a "cool-down" period before you're able to try the purchase again.

To resolve this problem, try restarting your console:

  1. Scroll left on the Home screen to open the guide.
  2. Select Settings.
  3. Select Restart Now.
  4. Select Yes to confirm.
  5. After the restart, try the transaction again.

Note If you're unable to access the guide or if the console appears to be frozen, press and hold the Xbox button on the console for 10 seconds, until the console turns off. After the console shuts down, touch the Xbox button on the console again to restart.
