Error 809B1008 occurs when you’re using Kinect

Problem

You may see the following error code and message when you’re using your Kinect sensor:

No player detected

809B1008

This means the Kinect sensor is having trouble seeing you during a Kinect Tuner test.

Solutions

Solution 1: Select “More info” and then “Try again”

When you get the error message, select More Info to see suggestions on how to correct the problem. After you make the suggested changes, select Try Again to run the test again.

If you keep getting the error, try the next solution.

Solution 2: Make sure the Kinect sensor is positioned correctly

Solution 3: Make sure you have good lighting

Learn about optimal lighting for Kinect and try the suggestions at Room lighting conditions for Kinect.

Solution 4: Request a repair

If the previous steps didn’t resolve the problem, go to the Online Service Center and click Start Request to request a repair.
