Network ports used by Zune

Note As of November 15, 2015, the Zune service has been discontinued. This may cause errors when attempting to stream or download content or update the service. For more information, see the Zune retirement FAQ.

Overview

If you have a router that functions as a firewall device, or if you are running firewall software on your computer, you may have to configure specific network ports in the firewall so that the Zune software can communicate correctly.

To share media from the Zune software on a computer to an Xbox 360 console, the ports that are listed in the following table must be available.

Port Protocol
1900 UDP
2869 TCP
3074 TCP/UDP
10243 TCP
10280 UDP
10281 UDP
10282 UDP
10283 UDP
10284 UDP
15740 TCP

For information about how to configure port settings on a firewall, router, or gateway, see the documentation for the specific device.
