Error 807b01f7 occurs when making a purchase on Xbox 360

You see the following error code and message when you make a purchase through Xbox Live on your Xbox 360 console:

Some Xbox Live content is temporarily unavailable. You can still access your profile, communicate with other players, and play games online.

The content will automatically appear when it's available.

Status Code: 807b01f7

This may mean that the Xbox Live service is experiencing difficulties and is temporarily unavailable. There may also be a problem with your connection to Xbox Live.

Solutions

To resolve this problem, try the following solutions.

Solution 1: Check the Xbox Live service status

If you see any alerts here, wait until the service is up and running and try again:

Xbox Live Core Services: up and running

Solution 2: Test your Xbox Live connection

  1. Press the Guide button  on your controller.
  2. Select Settings, System Settings, and then Network Settings.
  3. Select the name of your Wireless Network, or select Wired Network for a wired connection.
  4. Select Test Xbox Live Connection.

Note If you're prompted to update your console software, select Yes.

If the test is successful, your console should be able to connect to Xbox Live. Try connecting to Xbox Live again.

If the test isn't successful, continue troubleshooting by using the Xbox 360 Connection Error Solution.

Solution 3: Delete and redownload your Xbox profile

Replacing an out-of-date or corrupted profile on your console may resolve the problem. Here's how:

Step 1: Delete your Xbox profile

    1. Go to settings and select System.
    2. Select Storage.
    3. If you don't have any external storage devices connected to your console, select Hard Drive. If you do use external storage, select All Devices.
    4. Select Profiles.
  1. Select the profile that you want to delete.
  2. Select Delete.
  1. Select one of the following:
  • Delete Profile Only. This deletes the profile but leaves saved games and achievements.
  • Delete Profile and Items. This deletes the profile and the associated saved games and achievements.

Step 2: Clear the system cache

  1. Press the Guide button  on your controller.
  2. Go to settings and select System Settings.
  3. Select Storage or Memory.
  4. Highlight any storage device, and then press Y  on your controller. (It doesn't matter which storage device you select; this will clear the cache for all storage devices.)
  5. Select Clear System Cache.
  6. When prompted to confirm storage device maintenance, select Yes.
  7. Restart your console.

Step 3: Redownload your Xbox profile

  1. Press the Guide button  on your controller.
  2. Select Download Profile.

Note Not seeing Download Profile? This means that you're signed in under another profile. Press X to sign out, confirm, and then select Download Profile.

  1. At the bottom of the Download Profile screen, select Download Profile.
  1. Enter the email address of the Microsoft account that's associated with your Xbox profile.

Note If your account is an Xbox Live child account, you must enter the parent's Microsoft account credentials to download the profile. (For help with lost credentials, use the Lost Account Solution or the Lost Password Solution.)

  2. Enter your Microsoft account password.
  3. If you use external storage on your console, select the storage device to which you want to save the profile. If you don't use external storage, your profile will immediately begin downloading.

You should now be able to sign in using your Xbox profile on the console.
Important If you downloaded your profile to another console and you chose Remember Password, you have the option to remotely remove the password so that no one on the other console can access your profile. To learn how, see Manage your sign-in preferences on your Xbox 360 console.
