You see the following error message when you try to listen to a song or watch a music video in Xbox Music:

0xc101a24b - You need to be signed in to play this. Sign in, then try again.

This means that you are not signed in to Xbox Live with an account that has an active Xbox Music Pass.

Solution

To resolve this issue, sign in to Xbox Live with an account that has an active Xbox Music Pass membership.
