Error 0x80270300 occurs when you try to start, install, or update a game on Xbox One

You see the following error code when you try to start, install, or update a game on your Xbox One:

0x80270300

This issue occurs for both digital and disc-based games.

Solutions

Use one of the following solutions to resolve this issue.

Solution 1: Check to see if the game is installing an update

This issue can occur if the console tries to download an update for the game while the game is trying to download or start. Here’s how to see if the game you are trying to start or install is installing an update:

  1. To return to the Home screen, press the Xbox button  to open the guide, and then select Home.
  2. On Home, move right and select My games & apps.
  3. Select Queue and see if the game you are trying to launch is installing an update.

If the game isn’t currently installing an update, continue with the next solution.

Solution 2: Restart your console

Sometimes a game freeze or startup problem can be corrected simply by restarting your console. Here’s how to restart your Xbox One console:

  1. Press the Xbox button  to open the guide.
  2. Select Settings.
  3. Select Restart console.
  4. Select Yes to confirm.

Note If you're unable to access the Guide or if the console appears to be frozen, press and hold the Xbox button on the console for 10 seconds, until the console turns off. After the console shuts down, touch the Xbox button on the console again to restart.
