Error 800705b4 occurs when an Xbox app fails to launch after an update

You see the following error code when you try to start an Xbox app after updating it:

800705b4

This may mean that the application got corrupted through an app update.

Solutions

Solution 1: Check the Xbox Live service status

If you see any alerts here, wait until the service is up and running and try again:

Xbox Live Core Services: up and running

Solution 2: Delete and redownload the app

  1. On the Home screen, pull the right trigger (RT) Vand open My games & apps.
  2. Highlight the app, and then press the Menu button on your controller.
  3. Select Manage app.
  4. Select Uninstall all from the menu.
  5. Scroll left on the Home screen to open the guide.
    Note Double-tapping the Xbox button will open the guide from any other screen on the console.
  6. Select Settings.
  7. Select Restart console.
  8. After your console restarts, redownload the app and try launching it again.
