Set up and use the 4oD app on Xbox LIVE

What you need

To watch 4oD on your console, you need:

  • An Xbox LIVE Gold Membership
  • At least 75 megabytes (MB) of available storage space

How to download the 4oD app

  1. On your console, sign in with your Xbox LIVE gamertag (Xbox LIVE Gold Membership required).
  2. Go to Apps and select Browse Apps.
  3. Browse for 4oD.
  4. Select 4oD to download and install the app.

When the download is complete, the 4oD app automatically starts, and you can browse the content catalogue and view details about on-demand content that is available.

Steps for viewing 4oD on Xbox 360

  1. Sign in by using your Xbox LIVE gamertag.
  2. To launch the app, go to video, My Video Apps, and then 4oD.

4oD parental control

4oD on Xbox LIVE provides access to content reflecting the broad range of Channel 4 programmes, some of which may be unsuitable for young viewers.

To help you control access to 4oD content on your Xbox 360 console, Channel 4 enables you to set a personal identification number (PIN) to restrict access to certain programmes. This helps ensure that children in your household can view only content that is appropriate for them.

Note that your Xbox Family Settings PIN does not control access to content within 4oD — you must set up a unique 4oD parental control PIN.

To set up a PIN

  1. On your console, sign in with the gamertag associated with your Xbox LIVE Gold Membership.
  2. From the Dashboard, go to tv & films.
  3. From the My Video Apps screen, start the 4oD app.
  4. Go to the Settings hub and select the 4oD Parental Control tile.
  5. Follow the instructions to select the age level for the parental settings to apply to (either 16 or 18+).
  6. Enter the desired PIN.
    Users of the 4oD app will now have to enter the PIN to watch content rated for 16 or 18+ viewers.

To disable or reset a forgotten 4oD pin, contact 4oD. A member of 4oD customer support will be in touch by email within 24 hours to provide instructions.
