Set up the Last.fm app on Xbox

You can stream music and create personalised radio stations on your Xbox 360 console using the Last.fm app.

App requirements

To watch or listen to the Last.fm app on your Xbox 360 console, you need:

Download the Last.fm app

  1. On your console, sign in with your Xbox LIVE Gamertag. (Xbox LIVE Gold Membership is required.)
  2. Go to Apps and select Browse Apps.
  3. Browse for Last.FM.
  4. Select Last.FM to download and install the app.
  5. After the download, the app automatically starts. The Log in to Last.fm screen is displayed.
  6. Enter the user name and password for your Last.fm account. If you don't have a Last.fm account, you'll need to create one. (It's free.) Here's how:
    • To create a Last.fm account on your console, select Create a free Last.fm account.
    • To create a Last.fm account on your computer, go to Join Last.fm.

    One you've signed in to your Last.fm account, you won't be prompted to sign in again unless you sign out from within the Last.fm app.

  7. Once you're signed in, you can browse through the catalogue and view details about the available content.

To start Last.FM later, go to Music, My Music Apps and then Last.FM.

Watch and listen to the Last.fm app

  1. Go to Music, My Music Apps and then Last.fm.
  2. Sign in to your Last.fm account and then select Radio
  3. From the Radio hub, you can do the following:
    • Listen to the featured content in the large centre tile
    • Listen to content at the following radio stations, which are all based on interests that you've expressed and saved in your Last.fm account:
      • My Radio
      • My Mix Radio
      • My Recommendations
      • Recent
    • Access your Artist and Tag to find stations based on your favourite musician or genre
  4. For more content choices, navigate to the following hubs:
    1. Video - to watch music videos
    2. Recommendations - to see what new music Last.fm recommends based on your interests
    3. Search - to search for your favourite musician
  5. Choose something and then select Play.

Associate or unassociate your Last.fm account with your console

When you start the Last.fm app for the first time, you'll be prompted to associate your Last.fm account with your Xbox 360 console.

Associate your Last.fm account to your console

  1. When you start the Last.fm app, you'll see the Log in to Last.fm screen.
  2. Enter the user name and password for your Last.fm account.

    If you don't have a Last.fm account, you'll need to create one. (It's free.) Here's how:

    • To create a Last.fm account on your console, choose Create a free Last.fm account.
    • To create a Last.fm account on your computer, go to Join Last.fm.

    Once you've signed in to your Last.fm account, you won't be prompted to sign in again unless you sign out from within the Last.fm app.

Unassociate your Last.fm account from your console

  1. On your console, select the Profile hub.
  2. Select Sign Out. You'll be returned to the Long in to Last.fm screen.

For problems with your Last.FM account, go to Last.fm Support to post your question by email or to the Last.fm Support Twitter page to tweet your question.

Use Family Settings to control access to content

If you use Family Settings to control what content can be accessed through Xbox LIVE on your console, the Last.fm app will follow whatever settings you've established. For example, if you prohibit explicit content from being watched or listened to on your console, that content will be marked with a "Parental Advisory" logo, and you will have to enter a personal identification number (PIN) to play that item (and view associated album art).
