Troubleshoot Netflix on Xbox 360

Solutions for problems watching Netflix on Xbox LIVE

Disconnect Netflix from your Xbox LIVE account

To use the Netflix app on your Xbox console, your Xbox LIVE gamertag must be associated with a Netflix account. If you want to disconnect your gamertag from its current Netflix account so that you can sign in under a different account, follow the instructions at Netflix Support.

Netflix error messages

If you see “Title Temporarily Unavailable” or any other error message or error code while using the Netflix app on your Xbox console, visit Netflix Support to find the latest troubleshooting steps and resolutions.

Netflix videos don’t play smoothly

If Netflix videos are not playing smoothly on your console, try the following:

Netflix doesn’t respond

If the Netflix app doesn’t respond, delete and reinstall the app. Here’s how:

  1. From the Xbox Dashboard, go to Settings and then select System.
  2. Select Storage.
  3. Select your primary storage device (most likely Hard Drive).
  4. Select Games and Apps.
  5. Find and select any items that refer to Netflix.
  6. Select Delete.
  7. Return to the Xbox Dashboard.
  8. Go to Apps, and then select Browse Apps.
  9. Browse or search for Netflix.
  10. Select Netflix to download the app.

Prompted to register your console

When you try to play Netflix content on your Xbox 360 console, you may be prompted to register your console. This may occur every time that you try to play Netflix content. This happens if the Netflix credentials stored on the Xbox 360 console are corrupted or if there’s a problem with your Netflix account.

Fix corrupted Netflix credentials on the Xbox 360 console

  1. In the Xbox 360 Dashboard, go to settings, and then select System.
  2. Select Storage.
  3. Select your storage device.
  4. Select Games and Apps.
  5. Locate and highlight Netflix.
  6. Press Y to access Game Options, and then select Delete.
  7. Exit to the Xbox 360 Dashboard.
  8. Go to apps and select Browse Apps.
  9. Select Netflix and run the setup process.

Troubleshoot a Netflix account issue
