Add, change or remove your Xbox Music Pass credit cards

Overview

You can have one or more credit cards associated with your Xbox Music Pass (formerly Zune Music Pass). These payment options can be used to purchase items from the Music Store and are managed from the Payment Options page of your account.

Change credit cards for your Xbox Music Pass

Here’s how to associate a new credit card to your Xbox Music account:

  1. Go to your Microsoft account page and sign in using the Microsoft account email address and password associated with this account.
    Note To access your account from the Xbox Music app, open the app, put your pointer in the upper-right or lower-right corner of your screen (or swipe from the right), tap or click Settings, tap or click Account and then tap or click Manage Payment Options.

  1. After signing in, you may be prompted to enter a code that you’ll receive by email or by text (depending on your settings). This is proof of identity. (For information about setting up proof of identity, see Get help with your Microsoft account security proofs.)
  2. Tap or click Manage Payment options.
  3. Tap or click Add a new credit card (you might have to scroll down to see the button).
  4. On the “Add credit card” page, enter the information for the new card and tap or click Save.

Remove a credit card from your Xbox Music Pass

If you have an Xbox Music Pass month-to-month membership and you remove your credit card, your Music Pass will remain active until the end of the current term for which you paid.

To remove a credit card from your Xbox Music account:

  1. Go to your Microsoft account page and sign in using the Microsoft account email address and password associated with that account.
    Note To access your account from the Xbox Music app, open the app, put your pointer in the upper-right or lower-right corner of your screen (or swipe from the right), tap or click Settings, tap or click Account and then tap or click Manage Payment Options.
  2. After signing in, you are prompted to enter a code that you’ll receive by email or by text (depending on your settings). This is proof of identity. (For more information about setting up proof of identity, see Get help with your Microsoft account security proofs.)
  3. Tap or click Manage Payment options.
  4. On the “Manage Payment Options” page, tap or click Remove next to the card that you don’t want to use anymore.

Note The old credit card will be removed from our system, and you will not be able to use it anymore. Any information about it that still appears is for historical reference only.
