How to find games and game content after you redeem a code online on Xbox One

After you redeem a code online, games and downloadable game content are installed automatically on your home console if you have Automatically download updates and purchases enabled under power mode settings. Use the instructions on this page to manually install them later or on a non-home console.

Games

  1. Press the Xbox button  on your controller to return to the Home screen. Or say, “Xbox, go home”.
  2. Pull the right trigger  to scroll down, and then press the A button  to select My games & apps.
  3. Scroll right to the Ready to Install section.
  4. Highlight the game you want to install, press the A button  on your controller, and then select Install.

Add-ons and downloadable game content

  1. Press the Xbox button  on your controller to return to the Home screen. Or say, “Xbox, go home”.
  2. Pull the right trigger to scroll down, and then press the A button  to select My games & apps.
  3. Highlight the game for which you have an add-on, and then press the Menu button  on your controller.
  4. Select Manage game.
  5. Scroll right to the Ready to Install section.
  6. Highlight the add-on or game content you want to install, and then press the A button  on your controller.

Can’t download your content?

If you're having a problem downloading games or game content, try the following:

  • Check for service alerts. If you see any alerts here, wait until the service is up and running and try again:
