Error 809B1080 occurs when you use Kinect

Problem

You see the following error message and code when you use your Kinect sensor:

Kinect microphone is not detected.

809B1080

This means that the Kinect sensor microphone is having trouble hearing you.

Solutions

Solution 1: Select “More info” and then “Try again”

When you get the error, select More Info to see suggestions of how to correct the problem. After you make the suggested changes, select Try Again to run the test again.

Solution 2: Make sure that the Kinect sensor is positioned correctly

Solution 3: Use the Kinect Tuner

Try using the Kinect Tuner to resolve the problem. For guidance, see Using the Kinect Audio Tuner and Troubleshoot body tracking.

Solution 4: Request a repair

If the previous steps didn't resolve the problem, go to the Online Service Centre and click Start Request to request a repair.
