You see an E80 error on your Xbox 360 console

Problem

You see the following error message when you use your Xbox 360:

System Error: Contact Xbox Customer Support

Error E80

This means there may be a problem with the Xbox console hardware.

Solutions

Try the following steps:

  • Original Xbox 360 console

    Our Flashing Lights Solution may help resolve the issue. Choose one flashing light as the problem and follow the steps in the solution.

  • Xbox 360 S console
  1. Disconnect and then reconnect all accessories. See Check the connections for your Xbox 360 accessories.
  2. Remove the hard drive. See Add or remove an Xbox 360 Hard Drive.
  3. Remove any USB flash drives.
