Error 8B100041 occurs when opening an Xbox One app

You see the following error when you try to open an Xbox One app:
8B100041
This means that the app could not load on your Xbox One console.

Solutions

To resolve this issue, try the following solutions.

Solution 1: Sign out all users

Sign all users out of the console. To do this, follow these steps:

  1. Press the Xbox button on your controller to go to the Home screen.
  2. Scroll left on the Home screen to open the guide.
  3. Scroll up to Sign in at the top of the guide.
  4. Select the profile that's signed in to the console.
  5. Select Sign out.
  6. Repeat these steps for each profile that's signed in to the console.
  7. Sign in to your Xbox Live profile and try to open the Xbox One app again.

Solution 2: Restart your console

If the previous solution didn't work, try restarting your console. Follow these steps:

  1. Scroll left on the Home screen to open the guide.
    Note Double-tapping the Xbox button will open the guide from any other screen on the console.
  2. Select Settings.
  3. Select Restart console.
  4. Select Yes to confirm.
  5. Sign in to your Xbox Live profile and try to open the Xbox One app again.

Note If you're unable to access the guide or if the console appears to be frozen, press and hold the Xbox button on the console for 10 seconds, until the console turns off. After the console shuts down, touch the Xbox button on the console again to restart.
