This page describes the requirements for using the OneGuide on Xbox One, which combines TV service with your on-demand video apps. It also describes how to configure your Xbox One console to control your TV, audio receiver and set-top box.
The first time that you launch the TV app, the console will walk you through the steps described below. If you want to set up live TV later, you can select Live TV Setup from the OneGuide hub. Or, if you want to change any of your hardware settings after initial setup, you can do so by selecting TV & OneGuide from Settings.
Note Channel information in the OneGuide is not available in all regions. You can still use HDMI pass-through to view TV content through Xbox One, but the OneGuide will not show your TV listings. Select Live TV Setup from the OneGuide hub. You'll be asked a series of questions in order to complete your TV setup.
On the Watch TV on your Xbox screen, select either Set up your cable or satellite box or Set up your USB TV tuner. This depends on the source of your TV signal.
The Let’s watch TV screen will try to detect an HDMI-in signal. If the source of your HDMI signal shows up on the picture of the TV screen, select Next to continue and skip to step 5. If the source of your HDMI signal doesn’t appear, go on to step 4.
If you don’t see the source of your HDMI signal displayed on the picture of the TV screen, you’ll have to verify that your console is receiving a signal from your set-top box:
Confirm that your set-top box is connected by HDMI cable to the HDMI port on your console.
On the Let’s set up OneGuide screen, select Next to begin the setup of your cable or satellite TV provider’s channel guide. Follow the steps below to help your console learn how to control your cable or satellite set-top box.
Enter your postcode and select Next to find TV providers in your area.
From the drop-down menu, select your cable or satellite TV provider.
Note If your provider doesn't appear in the list, or if you watch broadcast TV only, select Antenna, and then press Next.
Select your TV line-up, and then select Next.
Enter the provider of your cable or satellite set-top box.
If your console recognises your brand, you'll see the message, "Your cable or satellite box has been set up". Select Next. If it does not recognise it, follow the onscreen guidance to help your console learn how to control your set-top box.
If the process is successful, you'll now see the message, "Your cable or satellite box has been set up". Select Next.
You can configure all of the devices in your home cinema system to respond to "Xbox, on" and other voice commands by enabling your Xbox One console to control your TV when prompted. Here's how. Note Voice commands are not available in all regions. For details, see Xbox One feature availability.
On the Turn on your TV when you say "Xbox on" screen, select Next to continue.
Select your TV manufacturer from the list of common providers, and then select Next. If it's not listed, select I don't see my brand and enter it manually.
Once your console has identified your TV, it will then try to identify the model of your TV by sending it a series of commands. When finished, you’ll see "OK, your TV is set up".
On the Pick your start setting screen, you’ll be asked to decide which screen your console will start from when first turned on. Select one of the two options, and then select Next to continue:
On start, go to Home – this option will display Home when you first power on your console.
On start, go to TV – this option will display live TV when you first power on your console.

If your TV provider isn't listed, it might not be compatible with the OneGuide at this time. Channel line-up and specific show information are currently not available in all regions.
