A child's account no longer appears in your family on Xbox One

Problem

Your child’s account no longer appears in your family on Xbox One.

Solutions

Solution 1: If your child is over the age of majority, ask whether your child removed his or her profile from the family.

Anyone over the age of majority (for example, 18 in the United States) has all the rights and privileges of an adult on the Xbox One console. This means that the person is no longer subject to parental controls and can leave the family at any time.

Note The age of majority varies by country.

Solution 2: Check with other adult family members to see if one of them removed the child’s account from the family.

To restore the child’s account to the family, you simply need to add the person back to the family when you're signed in to your account.

Note The main reason to set up a family on Xbox One is for child account management. All adults in a family have the authority to manage the child accounts in that family, including removing a child’s account from the family.

You might choose to remove any adult from the family whom you don’t want to be able to change your child’s account. Removing an adult from the family doesn’t affect the person’s Xbox Live Gold subscription or content. It just removes that person’s administrative rights over any children in the family.

Solution 3: Contact Xbox Support if you can’t re-add your child’s account, or if you think your account might have been compromised. Xbox Support can investigate on your behalf.
