Manage your Xbox LIVE payment options

Overview

You can have one or more payment options associated with your Xbox LIVE account. Payment options can include credit cards and PayPal accounts, and can be used to purchase items from Xbox LIVE Marketplace.

You can easily edit your payment options on your console or at Xbox.com. Here’s how:

Console steps: Add or change a payment option

  1. Sign in using your Xbox LIVE gamertag.
  2. Go to Settings and then select Account.

  1. Select Manage Payment Options.

  1. Do one of the following:
    • Select Add Credit Card to add a new credit card.
    • Select Add PayPal to use your PayPal account on Xbox LIVE. Follow the onscreen instructions (enter your PayPal username and password) to add PayPal as a payment option. PayPal is not available in all regions. For a list of supported regions, please see Use PayPal with your Xbox LIVE account. To sign up for a PayPal account, go to PayPal.com.
  2. Select Update Payment Option, to change an existing payment option.

Computer steps: Add or change a payment option

  1. Go to My Account.
  2. Under Payment & Billing, click Manage Payment Options.

  1. If prompted, sign in using your Windows Live ID (email and password).
  2. Do one of the following:

    To edit a payment option, click Edit.

    To add a payment option, do one of the following:

    • Click Add a new Credit Card and enter the credit card information.
    • Click PAY with PayPal and follow the on-screen instructions to add an existing PayPal account or create a new one. PayPal is not available in all regions. For a list of supported regions, please see Use PayPal with your Xbox LIVE account.
