Quantum Break pre-order information

If you pre-ordered Quantum Break via the Xbox Store (not from a retailer), you’ll receive codes that allow you to play additional content. You can pre-order at any time before the game launches on 5 April 2016. You’ll receive some codes prior to the game launch, and some after the game has launched:

  • Alan Wake: American Nightmare
  • Quantum Break on Xbox One
  • Quantum Break on Windows 10
  • Alan Wake + additional content

Alan Wake: American Nightmare

The first code you’ll receive when you pre-order Quantum Break from the Xbox Store is for Alan Wake: American Nightmare. As this is an Xbox 360 title, you’ll be able to use Backward Compatibility to play this on your Xbox One. For more info on Backward Compatibility, visit Xbox One Backward Compatibility.

Your code will be sent via Notification Centre, which you can view by double-tapping the Xbox button  and selecting Notifications.

Please note that codes will be sent out in waves, therefore it may take a few days to receive your code once you’ve pre-ordered the game.

Quantum Break on Xbox One

A few days before the launch of Quantum Break on 5 April 2016, your console will start downloading the game in the background if you have it set to “Instant On”. For detailed information on how to configure your console to automatically download the game prior to launch, as well as troubleshooting steps if you’re having any problems, visit Pre-order Xbox One games in the Xbox Store.

Quantum Break on Windows 10

Shortly after the launch of Quantum Break, you’ll receive an additional code for Quantum Break on Windows 10. This will allow you to play on both Xbox One and Windows, earn achievements on both and continue playing where you left off. Visit How to redeem your code for Quantum Break on Windows 10 for more information on how to redeem your code.

You will also need to make sure that your Windows 10 device meets the minimum system requirements to be able to play. Visit Quantum Break on Windows 10 FAQ for more information.

Alan Wake

Starting on 5 April 2016, a further set of codes will be sent out for you to redeem on your Xbox. These will entitle you to the following additional Xbox 360 Backward Compatibility content:

  • Alan Wake (base game)
  • Alan Wake “The Writer” content
  • Alan Wake “The Signal” content

These codes will also be sent out in waves, and are also available to anyone who purchases Quantum Break between 5 April 2016 and 7 July 2016. If you pre-ordered Quantum Break, you’ll receive your codes within a couple of weeks of game launch. If you purchase Quantum Break between 5 April 2016 and 7 July 2016, you’ll receive your code within a couple of weeks of purchase.

The message you receive will contain a single code entitling you to the game and both items of downloadable content. Redeem on your console to start downloading the game and content. To access the content:

  1. Go to My games & apps and highlight the Alan Wake tile.
  2. Press the Menu button  and select Manage game.
  3. “The Writer” and “The Signal” will appear in the Ready to install section.

If you have any problems redeeming your codes, visit Troubleshoot Xbox prepaid code issues.

If you have received your code but accidentally deleted the message or no longer have access to the codes, visit the Promotions & Special Offers on Xbox One forums and the Xbox Community team will help you retrieve your codes.
