On this page

Symptom

On your computer, your Windows application that requires a Kinect for Windows sensor doesn’t recognise your Kinect for Windows sensor.

Problem

The sensor that’s connected to your computer isn’t a Kinect for Windows Sensor.

Windows applications that require a Kinect for Windows sensor won’t work with other sensors (such as Kinect for Xbox 360).

Solution

Disconnect the sensor or device that’s connected to your computer, and connect a genuine Kinect for Windows sensor.
