How to change your payment option for your Xbox Live gold membership or Xbox Music Pass

If you receive a notification that your subscription payment has been declined, you must to pay the balance owed to avoid losing access to your subscription.

If your current payment option has expired or is invalid, you must change the payment option that’s associated with your subscription. Here’s how:

  1. Sign in to the Subscriptions page of your Microsoft account.
  2. Select the subscription that you want to manage.
  3. Scroll down to Payment Option and select Change Payment Option.
  4. If you already have another payment option on file that you would like to use, choose the one you want to use for your subscription. If you need to add a payment option, select Add payment option.
  5. Once you’ve selected your new payment option, click Authorize Payment Option. This will transfer any balance you owe to the new payment option and immediately charge the new payment option.
  6. If you need to remove a previous payment option, follow the steps at Remove a payment option from your Xbox Live or Xbox Music account.
