In a Kinect game, you are repeatedly prompted to sign in

When you start a Kinect-enabled game, you are prompted to sign in to your gamer profile, and then the game returns to the title screen and prompts you to sign in again, repeatedly. This issue occurs if you are using an offline profile that is not connected to Xbox Live.

Solutions

  • Connect your console to Xbox Live
You must be signed in to an Xbox Live account to access some Kinect sensor features and your profile.
If this does not resolve the problem, try the next solution.
  • Update your console software
picture
    1. Insert a Kinect game disc.
    2. Start the game from the Xbox Dashboard.
    3. If your Xbox console software needs updating, you’ll see the following message:
Update Required: An update has been found. To apply this update, you must restart your console.
    4. Select Yes, Restart to install the update.
  • Set up Kinect ID for your offline profile
To work around this issue, you can configure Kinect ID for your gamer profile. To do this, follow the Kinect ID setup steps at Automatic sign in with Kinect, and then start a Kinect-enabled game. Use Kinect gestures to start the game and sign in rather than using your controller. (If you use your controller during the game, you might still experience the same issue.)
