Tweet from your Xbox 360 console and stay connected to everyone you follow using the Twitter app. Use your controller, USB keyboard, or an Xbox 360 Chatpad to post your tweets.

To use the Twitter app, you need:

  • 5 megabytes (MB) of available storage space
  • An Xbox LIVE Gold Membership
  • An active Twitter account

Download the Twitter App

  1. From the Xbox Dashboard, go to Apps, and then select App Marketplace.
  2. Browse or search for Twitter.
  3. Select Twitter to download the app.

Set up Twitter

  1. On your console, sign into Xbox LIVE.
  2. Start the Twitter App. Here’s how:
    • Go to Apps, My Apps, and then select Twitter
      OR
    • Go to Social, My Social Apps, and then select Twitter.
  3. Enter your Twitter username and password.
  4. Note To sign in automatically when you start the Twitter app, select the Remember me check box.

  5. Select Sign in.

Give access to Twitter to a child account

Xbox LIVE members who are between 13 and 17 years old (or under age 20 in Korea) can’t sign into the Twitter app without the Windows Live ID and password of the adult account linked to their child account. If the adult wants to give the child access to Twitter, the adult can allow Xbox LIVE to remember the parent account password.

Give a child account access to Twitter

  1. On your console, sign into Xbox LIVE with the child account.
  2. Go to Social, My Social Apps, and then select Twitter.
  3. Sign in with the Twitter username and password of the child account.
  4. Sign in with Windows Live ID and password of the adult account.
  5. Select the Remember me check box.
  6. Select Sign in.

The next time the child account signs into the Twitter app, the adult Windows Live ID won’t be required.

Note To remove automatic Twitter sign in, clear the Remember me check box and exit the Twitter app. The next time the child account starts the Twitter app, the related adult will need to enter his or her Windows Live ID and password.

See Xbox 360 parental controls to learn more about controlling your child’s activity on Xbox LIVE.
