Troubleshoot Groove Music on Xbox One

If you’re having a problem using Groove Music on your Xbox One console, it may be due to an app error or a console setting.

Solutions

To resolve this problem, try the following solutions.

Solution 1: Uninstall and then reinstall the app

  1. Go to the Home screen.
  2. Press the Menu button on your controller.

  1. Select Settings.
    Note You can say "Xbox, go to settings" from any screen, but you'll need a controller once you're on the Settings screen.
  2. Select System and then Storage.
  3. Select your primary storage device.
  4. Select Games and Apps.
  5. Find and select any items that refer to "Groove Music."
  6. Select Delete.
  7. From the Home screen, go to apps and then Browse Apps.
  8. Select the Groove Music app.
  9. Select Confirm Download to download and install the app.

Solution 2: Test the Xbox Live service

  1. Go to the Home screen.
  2. Press the Menu button on your controller.
  3. Select Settings.
  4. Select Network.
  5. On the right side of the Network Settings screen, select Test network connection.
  • If you can connect to Xbox Live, the console is connecting correctly.
  • If you can't connect to Xbox Live, the Connection Test will show you where in the connection process the error occurs and what kind of error it is. Note this information, and then try the Xbox One Network Connection Error Solution to resolve the problem.

Solution 3: Delete your profile and download it again

To delete your profile, which might be corrupted, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Home screen.
  2. Press the Menu button on your controller.
  3. Select Settings.
  4. Scroll to the right. Under OTHER PEOPLE, select Remove accounts.
  5. Select the account you want to remove, and then select Choose this person.
  6. Select Remove from this Xbox to confirm.
  7. When you're finished, select Close.

To redownload your Xbox Live profile, follow these steps:

  1. From the Home screen, select Sign in in the upper-left corner.
  2. Select Add new.
  3. Type your Microsoft account email address and password.
  4. Read the Terms of Use and privacy statement, and then select I accept to continue.
  5. Read the privacy settings that you set for your account. Select Next.
  6. Select the sign-in and security preferences that you want.
  7. View your gamerpic, and then select Next.
  8. Select a color for your Home screen, and then select Next.
  9. Select Continue.
  10. View the membership options, and then press the A button to finish setting up the account.
