Solutions

Solution 1: Check the Xbox Live service status

If you see any alerts here, wait until the service is up and running and try again:

Solution 2: Restart your console

To resolve this problem, try restarting the console:

  1. Double-tap the Xbox button on your controller to bring up the guide.
  2. Scroll down and select Settings.
  3. Select Restart console, and then select Yes to confirm.
  4. After your console has restarted, try signing in again.

Note If your screen is black and you cannot go to the guide on your console, try restarting your console manually by pressing and holding the Xbox button on the console for 10 seconds, until the console turns off. After the console shuts down, touch the Xbox button on the console again to restart.
