What does a club admin do?

Think of a club admin as a club’s bouncer—the first line of defense against trolling, harassment, and other unacceptable behavior. When someone creates a club, not only are they the club’s owner, they’re also the admin (unless they make someone else the admin).

What does a club admin do?

The club admin upholds club rules, usually displayed in the club’s Info page as tags (for example, no trash-talking) and in About this club. The admin’s duties are threefold—reviewing invitation requests and recommendations, reviewing reports, and taking actions.

Review invitation requests and recommendations

Like owners, a club admin can review invitation requests and recommendations, and choose who joins the club.

  1. Double-tap the Xbox button to open the guide, select Friends & clubs, then choose a club from the list.
  2. Select the Manage tab, then select Invitation requests & recommendations.
  3. To invite someone to the club, choose a gamertag, then select Invite.

Review reports

When club members see things like inappropriate content in the club’s activity feed, they should report them to the club admin.

  1. Double-tap the Xbox button to open the guide, select Friends & clubs, then choose a club from the list.
  2. Select the Manage tab, then select Reports.
  3. Choose a report.

Take actions

The club admin helps manage the club—remove or ban people, delete inappropriate content, and more.

To remove someone (this revokes their club membership):

  1. Double-tap the Xbox button to open the guide, select Friends & clubs, then choose a club from the list.
  2. Select the Manage tab, then select Members & admins.
  3. Choose a club member, then select Actions > Remove member.

To ban or unban someone:

  1. Double-tap the Xbox button to open the guide, select Friends & clubs, then choose a club from the list.
  2. Select the Manage tab, then select Members & admins.
  3. Choose a club member, then select Actions > Ban or Unban.

To delete inappropriate content in the club’s activity feed:

  1. Double-tap the Xbox button to open the guide, select Friends & clubs, then choose a club from the list.
  2. Select the Activity feed tab.
  3. Choose the content, then select Options > Delete post. (You can also delete post comments by selecting the content item, choosing a comment, then selecting Options > Delete comment.)

To delete inappropriate content in club chat:

  1. Double-tap the Xbox button to open the guide, select Friends & clubs, then choose a club from the list.
  2. Select the Chat tab.
  3. Move the pointer over the center chat field and select it, choose a chat bubble, then select Delete.

Make someone else the admin

Club owners can make any club member (or multiple members) an admin. First, make sure the club member is someone trustworthy. Second, make sure they want to be the club admin. Finally, share this info so they understand the duties of a club admin!

To make someone a club admin:

  1. Double-tap the Xbox button to open the guide, select Friends & clubs, then choose a club from the list.
  2. Select the Manage tab, then select Members & admins.
  3. Choose a member, then select Actions > Promote to admin.

Conversely, the club owner can remove a person as club admin (this revokes their admin status, not their club membership). To remove someone as the club admin:

  1. Double-tap the Xbox button to open the guide, select Friends & clubs, then choose a club from the list.
  2. Select the Manage tab, then select Members & admins.
  3. Choose a member, then select Actions > Remove as club admin.
