Error 0x87de0017 occurs when downloading content on Xbox One

You see the following error code when you try to download content to your Xbox One console:

0x87de0017

This may mean that the content can’t be downloaded from the Store, or that there's an Xbox Live service issue.

Solutions

Solution 1: Try to redownload the content

  1. On Home, pull the right trigger (RT ), and then press A to open My games & apps.
  2. Select Queue and then highlight the game or app you're trying to download.
  3. If the status shows as Queued or Paused, select the game or app and press the Menu button, and then select Resume installation.

Solution 2: Check the Xbox Live service status

If you see any alerts here, wait until the service is up and running and try again:

Social and Gaming: up and running

TV, Music and Video: up and running
