Error CP221 occurs when you try to add a payment instrument to Xbox Live

You see the following error code and message when you try to add a payment instrument to your Xbox Live account:

CP221

You’ve added it to your account already. You’re ready to buy what you want!

Solution

If you get this error, it means that the payment instrument you are trying to add to your account has already been added and is ready to use.
