Learn how to troubleshoot problems with the Blip app on Xbox LIVE.
If content does not play smoothly in the Blip app, you may be experiencing a connectivity problem. See Issues with connection speed or disconnects.
If your Xbox 360 console is not providing good-quality video or audio, see Xbox 360 audio or video problems.
If the Blip app doesn’t respond to input, delete and reinstall it . Here's how:
From the Xbox Dashboard, go to Settings and then System.
Select your primary storage device (most likely Xbox 360 Hard Drive).
Select Games and Apps.
Find and select any items that refer to Blip.
Return to the Xbox Dashboard.
Go to Browse Apps, and then select Blip.
Select Confirm Download to download and install the app.
If you keep getting this error, contact Xbox Support.
You may get one of the following error messages when you try to use the Blip app.
BLIP server unavailable
Sorry, BLIP server isn't available right now. Please try again later. For more information, go to www.xbox.com/status.
If you get either of these error messages, go to Service status to check for current issues with Xbox LIVE or the Blip service.
If there are no current issues and you get one of these errors when trying to start the Blip app, wait about a minute and then try again.
If you still get the error message, try deleting and reinstalling the app.
If you continue to get the error, try to improve your connection speed. For help, see Improve Xbox LIVE speed.
If none of these solutions work, contact Xbox Support.
Sorry, the item you're requested is not available. Go to BLIP Home or exit the application and try again.
This video is not available on XBOX yet, please go to Blip.com website to watch it.
If you get one of these error messages, wait for about a minute and then try to access the content again.
If you continue to get an error, return to the previous menu and select a different piece of content to watch.
To notify Blip about this error, send email to Xbox@blip.com.

Can't install the optional media update. Restart the app and try again. If the problem persists, use the Xbox Dashboard to search for and download the Optional Media Update.
If you get either of these error messages, it means there's an availability error. To work around these errors, try the following solutions:
Wait a minute and try downloading the content again.
Select a different piece of content to watch.
If you keep getting either of these error messages, delete and reinstall the Blip app.
If you still get the error, you'll have to reinstall the Optional Media Update. (It's free.) Here's how:
At the Xbox Dashboard, go to Bing and search for "Optional Media Update."/p>
Select Optional Media Update.
Select Optional Media Update again.
Select Confirm Download.
When the download is complete, select Continue and return to the Xbox Dashboard.
Note The Optional Media Update can be downloaded only once per gamertag. If you're using your gamertag on a friend's Xbox 360 console and you've already used your gamertag to download the Optional Media Update to your own console, you won’t be able to download the Optional Media Update to your friend's console. Your friend will have to download the Optional Media Update using his or her gamertag.
Content Control Error
Your console Ratings system is not supported by the application. The application only supports US and Canadian Rating systems. You can turn off content controls in Settings, Family.
If you get either of these error messages, you must either change your locale to the United States or turn off Xbox parental controls.
