What is your exercise information?

Your Exercise information includes your attributes and your exercise stats.

Attributes

Attributes are your height, weight, year of birth, and gender. This information is used to improve the accuracy of your exercise stats in your Kinect games and apps. These attributes are optional and are not shared with Xbox LIVE members.

To change these attributes, see the "Set up or change your attributes" section below.

Exercise stats

Exercise stats include your accumulated fitness scores based on total calories burned, time spent playing, physical intensity of movements, and feedback from physical activity in Kinect games and apps.

Exercise stats can also include:

  • Measurements of fitness in the areas of strength, flexibility, and endurance
  • Changes in attributes over time
  • Rankings in challenges and contests that you choose to enter
  • Rankings on leaderboards (such as "Most push-ups ever")

Set up or change your attributes

Your attributes will usually be set up through your fitness games and apps, but you can also manage them by using the Xbox 360 Dashboard. Follow these steps to set up or change your attributes:

  1. Sign in to your profile (either local or Xbox LIVE).
  2. Go to Settings and select Profile.
  3. Select Manage Exercise Info.
  4. Follow the instructions to change your attributes.

You can choose from the following privacy settings:

  • Offline (default): Your attributes and exercise stats are stored only on your Xbox console and cannot be shared. With this setting, you can track your personal exercise info (like total calories burned) locally, but the info is never sent to Xbox LIVE. If you delete or download your profile again, your settings and history are lost.
  • Private: Your attributes and exercise stats are stored on Xbox LIVE but are not shared with anyone. This setting allows you to use your exercise info for online play and roaming, and it enables you to log on to multiple consoles or access your exercise info from the cloud, but your stats remain private and are not visible to anyone else on Xbox LIVE.
  • Friends Only: Your attributes and exercise stats are stored on Xbox LIVE, and your exercise stats and history are visible to (only) your Xbox LIVE friends.
  • Everyone: Attributes and exercise stats are stored on Xbox LIVE, and your exercise stats and history are visible to everyone on Xbox LIVE. This option is not available for children or teens.

Note Because exercise stats can only be shared on Xbox LIVE, these privacy settings are disabled for local profiles.

What to expect when you change your privacy settings

If you’ve been exercising offline and then share your exercise stats with friends:

  • Sharing your exercise stats with friends means that your calorie burn information will be available to your friends.
  • You’ll be able to see how your calories burned compares to your friends’ in games and on leaderboards.
  • You’ll be able to unlock team calorie burn achievements in games with your friends.

If you’ve been sharing your exercise stats with friends and then decide to change your privacy setting to Offline:

  • Your exercise stats, like calorie burn information, will be removed from Xbox LIVE and only stored on your console.
  • If you’ve downloaded your profile to another console, your information will not be shared with games or other users.

Seeing strange results?

Inaccurate exercise attributes may negatively affect a game’s ability to correctly calculate calorie burn or other stats. If you are seeing strange results or believe your fitness stats are inaccurate, check your exercise attributes to be sure they are correct.
