When you purchase the two-game disc pack from a local retailer, you get access to a full season of interactive TV episodes. Each disc contains four standalone episodes that you can use when you are offline. (You do not have to be connected to LIVE or have an Xbox LIVE Gold membership to access this content.)
For a broader experience, click Free Download in the lower-left corner to download and install the Kinect Nat Geo TV app. To use the Kinect Nat Geo TV app, you must be connected to Xbox LIVE and have a LIVE account. With the two-game disc pack, you get a DVD code that will unlock the full experience in the app. For information about how to unlock the app, see Redeem a code.
Note If you do not want your children to use Xbox LIVE, you can use the game discs without going online.
To watch Kinect Nat Geo TV on your console, you need a Season Pass.
The first time you start the app, you will be prompted to activate a Season Pass. To sign up, select Try it Now. If you instead select Maybe Later, you will be prompted to activate or purchase a Season Pass each time you interact with content that requires a Season Pass in the app.
The season pass comes with the Nat Geo game disc set or can be purchased separately for 2,400 Microsoft Points. The season pass gives you:
Note Alternatively, you can purchase individual interactive episodes for 400 points.
Once you purchase the Season Pass or activate by using the DVD code, all users on that console can take advantage of the Season Pass. However, only the gamertag that is signed in when the Season Pass is activated can access that Season Pass from other consoles.
When you purchase the game disc set, you get a game token card that contains a 25-digit number. To activate the Season Pass, follow these steps:
For more information, see Redeem a Code.
If you downloaded the app from the Apps Store without purchasing the game discs, you can still take advantage of all of the app content by purchasing a Season Pass:
If you use Family Settings to control which movies and TV shows can be watched through Xbox LIVE, the Kinect Nat Geo TV app will follow these settings. For example, if you prohibit TV-MA-rated TV shows from being watched on your console, those programs are marked with a "restricted video" icon in the Kinect Nat Geo TV app. To play a locked item, an adult must enter the Family Settings pass code.
