Set up the Machinima app on Xbox

To use the Machinima app, you need the following:

• An Xbox LIVE Gold membership
• At least 75 megabytes (MBs) of available space

1. On your console, sign in with your Xbox LIVE gamertag. (Xbox LIVE Gold Membership is required.)
2. Go to Apps, and then select Browse Apps.
3. Browse for Machinima.
4. Select Machinima to download and install the app.
5. After the download, the app automatically starts, and you can browse through the catalog and view details about the available content.

To start the Machinima app later, go to Video, My Video Apps, and then Machinima.

1. Go to Video, My Video Apps, and then Machinima.
   From the start hub, you can watch any of the featured programs displayed in the center of the hub.
2. Navigate to any of the following hubs to browse content:
   • search – Browse and select content related to your favorite game titles.
   • mine – The first time you see this hub, you'll need to register your Xbox 360 console with Machinima (see the "Register your console with Machinima" section). After you've done that, when you go to this hub, you'll see your specific content.
   • game videos – Browse and select content related to your favorite games.
   • shows – Browse and select web series content.
   • directors – Browse and select content related to your favorite directors.
   • settings – Confirm or change your settings for this app.
3. Select something that you want to watch, and then select Play.

To take full advantage of the mine hub, you'll need to register your Xbox 360 console with Machinima. Here's how:

1. Go to Video, My Video Apps, and then Machinima.
2. From the Start hub, navigate to and select the mine hub.

3. Select register. The registration screen displays.
   On the registration screen, you'll see a message telling you to register your console and a registration code immediately after the message.

4. On your computer:

a. Go to Connect to Machinima on Xbox by logging in with your Facebook account.
b. Log in to Machinima using your Facebook account information.

c. In Facebook, select Go to App.
d. Select Allow to activate the Machinima integration.
f. After you complete the previous step, you'll be returned to Machinima.com, where you'll be prompted to enter the registration code displayed in step 3.

Note Registering your console with Machinima will link your gamertag, Machinima, and Facebook accounts.

If you use Family Settings to control what you share through Xbox LIVE, the Machinima app will follow whatever settings you've established. For example, if you prohibit TV-MA-rated TV shows from being viewed through your Xbox 360 console, those programs will be marked with a "Restricted video" icon by the Machinima app. To play a locked item, an adult must edit the Family Settings pass code.
