Troubleshoot NBC News app issues

If the NBC News app does not respond to input, follow these steps to delete and reinstall the app:

1. From the Xbox dashboard, go to Settings and then System.
2. Select Storage.
3. Select your primary storage device (most likely Xbox 360 Hard Drive).
4. Select Games and Apps.
5. Find and select any items that refer to NBC News.
6. Select Delete.
7. Return to the Xbox dashboard.
8. Go to Browse Apps, browse for NBC News, and select the app.
9. Select Confirm Download to download and install the app.

If you get an error message when you try to view content in the NBC News app, follow the steps that correspond to the error message below.

"Sorry, the NBC News service is not available right now. Please try again later."

1. Go to the Service Status page to check if there’s a current issue with the service provider.
2. If there is no issue with the service provider and you get this error when you try to start the NBC News app, wait for about a minute and then try to start the app again.
3. If you continue to get the error, delete and reinstall the NBC News app. (See The NBC News app does not respond, above.)
4. If reinstalling the app does not resolve this issue, try to improve your connection speed.

If these steps didn’t resolve your problem, contact Xbox Support.

"Video not available" or "Page does not exist"

If you get the message “Sorry, the video you're interested in is no longer available” or “The page you are trying to view does not exist,” the content you’ve selected cannot be viewed currently. Select different content from the NBC News app to watch.

"NBC News cannot be run in your region."

The NBC News service for Xbox is not available outside of the United States.

If you are in the United States, make sure you have the correct locale selected on your console .

"The video is not loading properly. We are attempting to reload the video now."

1. Check the Service Status page for any current issues with the service provider.
2. If there is no issue with the service provider and you get this error when you try to start the NBC News app, wait for about a minute and then try to start the app again.
3. If you continue to get this error, delete and reinstall the NBC News app. (See “The NBC News app does not respond” above.)
4. If reinstalling the app does not resolve this issue, try to improve your connection speed.
