Users of the Sports Picks app can watch their favorite teams, boxers, or athletes compete against those of their friends through their Xbox.
To use the Sports Picks app, you need the following:
- An Xbox LIVE Gold membership
- At least 75 megabytes (MBs) of available space
Download the Sports Picks app
- On your console, sign in with your Xbox LIVE gamertag. (Xbox LIVE Gold Membership is required.)
- Go to Apps, and then select Browse Apps.
- Browse for Sports Picks.
- Select Sports Picks to download and install the app.
- After the download, the app automatically starts, and you can browse through the catalog and view details about the available content.
To start the Sports Picks app later, go to Apps, My Apps, and then Sports Picks.
Navigating the Sports Picks app
Go to Apps, My Apps, and then Sports Picks. You see the following screen:
Note In regions outside the United States, the only available Sports Picks will be for the National Basketball Association (NBA) and the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).
Here's how to navigate the display:
- The upper-left panel displays your Sports Picks profile.
- The Leaderboard This Week panel (below your profile) displays the respective rank, from highest to lowest, of your Xbox LIVE friends who have used the Sports Pick app this week.
- On the NBA panel (to the right of your Sports Picks profile), you can click through to NBA Week View, which displays this week's upcoming NBA games.
- The games that are displayed are those being played from Monday through Sunday of the current week.
- Clicking any listed game in NBA Week View will take you to NBA Match-Up View, where you can choose your favorite teams and see results.

- NBA games are tracked live. When an NBA game is completed, the Sports Picks app automatically updates to show the results.
- On the UFC panel (right of the Leaderboard This Week panel), you can click through to UFC Event View to see current and completed events.
- UFC Event View displays the UFC fight card for the latest event (either upcoming or most recent).
- Clicking any listed event will take you to UFC Match-Up View, where you can choose your fighters and see results.

- When a UFC event is completed, the Sports Picks app automatically updates to show the results.
- In ESPN Event View, you can click to display all upcoming National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Bowl Championship Series (BCS) games.
- ESPN Event View displays all BCS games (35 games over a 4-week period).
- Clicking any listed BCS game will take you to ESPN Match-Up View, where you can choose your favorite teams and see results.

- BCS games are tracked live. When a BCS game is completed, the Sports Picks app automatically updates to show the results.
- Use Walk-Through (right of the NBA panel) to take a "walking tour" of the Sports Picks app.
- Match-Up View is accessed by clicking through the event views listed above. In Match-Up View, you can do the following:
- View upcoming events and make picks.
- Share your picks with Xbox LIVE friends who use the Sports Picks app.
- The identification bar (located above Walk-Through) displays at the top of your screen for as long as you use the app. It displays your current statistics, as well as the time remaining in the current Sports Picks week. The statistics change to reflect picks for the sport you're currently navigating. For example, if you're using NBA Week View, the identification bar displays your weekly NBA stats.
