If you see the error message “You don’t own the requested item,” it means that the license on the content that you are trying to watch has probably expired. This usually happens with rented or borrowed content such as movie rentals, which have a limited viewing period. When that date passes, you no longer have access to it. Sometimes this error is represented by the code x0c101a7d4 or c101a7d4.

If you see this error, you might have to either re-rent or buy the content. To do this:

  1. From the Start screen, tap or click Videos.
  2. Go to your Collection and tap or click the video that you’re trying to watch.
  3. Tap or click Buy/Rent to either re-rent it or buy it.

What’s going on?

Typically, this error occurs for one of the following reasons:

  • The license on the content that you’re trying to play has expired.
  • You’re trying to play rented or borrowed content that is no longer available.
