Troubleshoot Xfinity issues on your Xbox 360

Xfinity app “unable to activate” error messages

If you see an "unable to activate" error message when you run the Xfinity app on your Xbox 360 console, something is preventing Xfinity TV Service from activating the app on your console.

Error message: “We were unable to activate XFINITY® TV on Xbox 360®. Please try again in a few minutes. If you continue to have issues, please visit http://www.xfinity.com/xbox for more information.”

Error message: “We were unable to activate XFINITY® TV on Xbox 360®. Please visit http://www.xfinity.com/xbox for more information.”

  • Error code 700

Error message: “We were unable to activate XFINITY® TV on Xbox 360® with this account.”

  • Error code 800: “Please sign in as the primary XFINITY account holder and try again. If you continue to have issues, please visit http://xfinity.com/xbox for more information.”
  • Error code 801: “Please make sure that you subscribe to both XFINITY TV and XFINITY Internet. You can sign up for XFINITY TV or XFINITY Internet by contacting us at 1-800-XFINITY.”
  • Error code 802: “Please sign in as the primary XFINITY account holder and try again. If you continue to have issues, please visit http://xfinity.com/xbox for more information.”

Error message: “We were unable to activate XFINITY® TV on Xbox 360®.”

  • Error code 803: “We are having difficulty identifying your cable modem. Please visit http://www.xfinity.com/xbox for more information.”
  • Error code 804: “You currently have an open order at Comcast which needs to be closed. Please visit http://www.xfinity.com/xbox for more information.”
  • Error code 806: “We could not detect a compatible cable modem. Please visit http://www.xfinity.com/xbox for more information.”
  • Error code 807: “This service requires XFINITY TV. You can sign up for XFINITY TV by contacting us at 1-800-XFINITY.”
  • Error code 808: “This service requires XFINITY Internet. You can sign up for XFINITY TV by contacting us at 1-800-XFINITY.”
  • Error code 999: “The setup process has timed out. Please try again in a few minutes. If you continue to have issues, please visit http://www.xfinity.com/xbox for more information.”

Solutions

Error codes 0, 1, 5, 7, 8, 805

These error codes are accompanied by this error message: “We were unable to activate XFINITY® TV on Xbox 360®. Please try again in a few minutes. If you continue to have issues, please visit http://www.xfinity.com/xbox for more information.”

If you receive this error message, wait about three minutes and then install or run the Xfinity app again.

Error codes 700, 701, 702

These error codes are accompanied by this error message: “We were unable to activate XFINITY® TV on Xbox 360®. Please visit http://www.xfinity.com/xbox for more information.”

Error code 803

This error code is accompanied by this message: “We were unable to activate XFINITY® TV on Xbox 360®.”
