Use safety mode to filter YouTube videos

Overview

The YouTube app includes a safety mode that you can use if you don’t want family members to see videos through your console that contain potentially objectionable material. YouTube uses community flagging and other techniques to filter objectionable material.

By default, the safety mode for the YouTube app is set to “Moderate.”

Change the YouTube safety mode setting

  1. On your console, go to Video, My Video Apps, and then YouTube.
  2. Go to Settings.
  3. Select a safety mode setting: Strict, Moderate, or Off.

The safety mode you select is shown on screen.
