When you’re approaching the end of your current Xbox LIVE Gold Membership, you’ll see a message on your console.
You can renew your Xbox LIVE membership using a payment option such as a credit or debit card, or a prepaid Gold Membership card.

Renew with a payment option (such as a credit card)

Note You can’t remove the credit card on file until your current membership expires or you turn off automatic membership renewal. To find out how to turn auto renewal off, see: Turn off auto renewal or cancel your membership.
You can renew your Xbox LIVE using a prepaid Microsoft Gold Membership card (available at retail locations).
When you redeem a prepaid Xbox LIVE membership code, time on your existing Xbox LIVE membership is extended and your renewal settings remain the same. Learn how to redeem a prepaid code.
You might receive error messages because of issues with your account. See the solutions below.
Error: Your credit card has been declined several times by our billing service.
You might receive this error if your credit card has expired or information on your credit card has changed. To fix this problem please see: Change payment for an Xbox LIVE membership.
